Divers discovered the world’s oldest drinkable champagne sealed with natural cork

Divers recently found some 30 bottles of Champagne that are estimated to have been in the Baltic Sea for over 200 years. Produced around the time of the French Revolution, the bottles are thought to be a royal gift to Tsar Peter, the Great.

Sealed with natural cork, a material that played a fundamental role in keeping the liquid great conditions, this champagne was described as “fantastic”.

The news was aired on several TV stations around the world, in several programs that show the natural cork in excellent state.
